This temple was built in the 17th century by a Hindu priest named Nirarta, who, during his journey around the island of Bali, discovered that this site was a very comfortable place to connect with God. Then, the priest ordered the locals to build a temple here, which we now call Tanah Lot. Dedicated to Baruna, the God of the Sea, Tanah Lot Temple is the best place to see the sunset.
